Day
1 - 19th April - Istanbul
'Welcome to Turkey!!' You will be met at the airport and transferred
to your hotel where you will meet your guide and the rest of your
group. Overnight Istanbul.
Day
2 - 20th April - Istanbul (B)
After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of the only city to span two
continents. We visit the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya Museum, Topkapi Palace,
Underground Cistern and Hippodrome. Overnight Istanbul.
Day 3 -21st April - Istanbul to Kusadasi (B + D)
Today we head south to the former capital of the Ottoman Empire, Bursa.
See the Ulu Mosque, the Green Mosque and the Green Tomb. Overnight
Kusadasi.
Day 4 - 22nd April - Ephesus (B + D)
Stand in awe at the technology once used on a tour of the ruined ancient
city of Ephesus. We also visit the Selcuk Museum before a Leather
goods display. Turkey produces some of the finest leather goods in
the world and many are made here before branding in Italy. We also
visit the carpet village and learn how carpets are made by hand, what
determines their value and the historical and cultural context in
which this folk art has blossomed. Overnight Kusadasi. |
Day 5 - 23rd April -
Kusadasi to Kucukkuyu (B + D)
Today we head north, toward the Gallipoli battlefields, and enjoy a guided
tour of Pergamum, capital of the ancient Pergamum Kingdom. Overnight Kucukkuyu.
Day 6 - 24th April - Kucukkuyu
to Gallipoli (B + BBQ)
Early morning tour of Troy, the site of the famed Trojan Horse. After Troy,
we tour the WWI battlefields of Gallipoli. Visit Lone Pine Australian Memorial
and Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial, ANZAC Cove, Johnston's Jolly and the
Kaba Tepe Gallipoli Museum. Tonight, enjoy a relaxed BBQ before heading
to the site of the ANZAC Dawn Service. Keep warm in your sleeping bag under
the stars with the thousands of others waiting for the sun rise. Overnight
at Dawn Service.
Day 7 - 25th April - ANZAC Day at Gallipoli to Istanbul (BLB)
Awake before sun rise to the ANZAC Dawn Service and commemorate our fallen
forefathers on this special day. Also attend the Australian &/or New
Zealand Memorial services. After the services we drive back to Istanbul
with powerful memories of commemorating ANZAC Day at Gallipoli. Overnight
Istanbul.
Day 8 - 28th April - Istanbul (B)
After breakfast we bid farewell to our new friends.
